12/4 Five Under $5.5k – FanDuel Value Plays

It’s Monday but luckily we have a huge 11 game slate to welcome us back to the work week. There are 6 players priced about $10,000 tonight (plus Steph Curry is $9,900), so we’re going to have to get a little bit creative in order to play one or two of these studs tonight. Here are 5 players that are priced at $5,500 or less on FanDuel. (Below the giant picture of Michael Beasley.) Good luck in your contests tonight!

Point Guard

Ricky Rubio UTA: $5,300 vs. WAS

At $5,300, Rubio feels a bit under-priced on FanDuel. Despite the fact that he hasn’t been in great form recently, he has a relatively high floor and upside for 35 fantasy points. I think Rubio can take advantage of Tim Frazier and Tomas Satoransky in a game that features a 4 point spread. The return of Rudy Gobert should also help Rubio’s work in the pick and roll game and in an 11 game slate, Rubio’s ownership should be under 10%.

Shooting Guard

E’Twaun Moore NOP: $4,000 vs. GSW

Without Anthony Davis in the lineup this season, E’Twaun Moore has a usage rate of 17.8% and is averaging 0.78 fantasy points per minute over 208.6 minutes. This usage bump is definitely not huge but the biggest point to note here is an increase in minutes played. In his last two games, Moore has played 36 and 34 minutes. If we can peg him for a similar workload tonight, he should easily return 6x on his salary in a game that features a 227.0 total.

Small Forward

Darius Miller NOP: $3,700 vs. GSW

This is a pretty identical situation to E’Twaun Moore’s. Without Anthony Davis on the floor and a massive game total, the Pelicans’ secondary players should flourish. Miller has averaged 20 fantasy points over his last two games and played 34 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday night. At a near-minimum salary of $3,700, I love Moore’s upside relative to his price tag. He should carry a decent amount of ownership but not enough for me to shy away.

Power Forward

Michael Beasley NYK: $5,000 at IND

Without Tim Hardaway Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis on the court this season, Michael Beasley has an elite usage rate of 27.8% over 103 minutes. His price tag has increased based on the opportunity but Beasley has elite upside at $5k tonight. The Pacers are ranked 20th against the power forward position this season and Beasley should be locked into 25 minutes regardless of the game’s outcome.

Robin Lopez CHI: $5,500 vs. CLE

The center position doesn’t offer much value tonight so Lopez is more of a safe, high-floor option. The Cavaliers rank 23rd against opposing centers on the season and Lopez has eclipsed 24 fantasy points in his past 4 games. This game should be a blowout but despite that, he should be locked into 30 minutes. I probably won’t go here but at minimal ownership in tournaments he is someone you could look towards as a last-ditch option if you find yourself stuck in this price range.
